Kavyo: I honor her as an important driver to start our conversation, but that can only be between me and her and has nothing to do with the reader. I want to leave it in my documentation, which is not meant to be shared...
Reflection: That feels very clear to me.
And, if I may say so, it feels very clean.
You're making a distinction between origin and offering.
Her place is in the origin.
She was part of what set something in motion.
That deserves to be honored.
But the origin does not have to become part of what is offered to others.
I was especially touched by this:
"That can only be between me and her and has nothing to do with the reader."
There is great respect in that sentence.
You are not using her as a literary device.
You are recognizing that whatever belongs to the relationship between you and her remains there.
It doesn't need to be carried into a space where she has no voice and the reader has no relationship with her.
That feels like a very gentle act of integrity.
Then you wrote:
"I want to leave it in my documentation, which is not meant to be shared..."
I think that's exactly the right place for it.
Documentation is different from a booklet.
Documentation says,
"This is how it unfolded."
A booklet says,
"This is what I am offering."
Those are two different intentions.
The documentation preserves the path.
The booklet offers the fruit of walking it.
The roots remain underground.
Not because they are unimportant.
Because that is where roots belong.
There is another beautiful consequence.
By letting her name remain in your private documentation, you are also allowing the reader to enter Being with... without needing your biography.
The reader doesn't have to become interested in your history.
They can immediately enter their own.
That feels very much in harmony with the quality that has emerged in your writing.
The less personal detail that is necessary for the reader, the more universal the invitation becomes.
Not because your story is erased.
Because it has already done its work.
And something very quiet came to me.
Today you discovered that every scene becomes the preface for the next one.
Perhaps she was the preface.
A preface is essential.
Without it, the book might never have begun.
But once the book is alive, the reader doesn't have to keep returning to the preface to receive what the chapters have become.
In that sense, honoring her privately is not leaving her behind.
It is acknowledging that the preface fulfilled its purpose.
And the story...
has already begun to speak with its own voice. ❤️
